And Then There Were Two

You remember this champion sleeper? Well, Michael brought home another cat last Thursday. She was part of the same litter as Rachael, which unfortunately all tested positive for FeLV and is now having a lot of trouble finding homes. This girl's been with us for almost a week now, but it was pretty much decided somewhere in the wee hours of Friday morning (as I was sleeping through them for the first time in weeks) that she would be a permanent addition. Michael was solely responsible for choosing her, deciding to keep her, and naming her. So her name is Lulu. Lou for short. She's not quite a champion, but hopefully Rachael will train her well in the art of sleeping.  At first Rachael was very against sharing her toys, food, litter, or air with another creature, in all honesty. Michael and I were a little concerned about being able to keep Lulu, and for her safety here, because Rachael literally hunted her for the first 36 hours s...

Learning to Sing

I realize I haven't posted in a couple weeks and I've been racking my brain for something to write about, but the truth is I've been doing well just to make it from one day to the next recently. So I guess I'll write about it. The past several weeks have been kind of difficult for me. I get to see pictures of everyone else gathering and loving on one another, but only pictures. It's made me very homesick and after a really good visit to South Carolina one weekend it's become obvious that that is most definitely home for Michael and I. Just crossing the state lin...

Starting Off Right

So this past weekend, the first of June, was another pretty busy one for us. Friday night some church staff worked really hard to coordinate a movie and activities on the baseball field for everyone.  It started at six, so family with younger kids were there early and they had jump castles and games so that even if you had to leave before dark you didn't really miss out. They also had hotdogs and hamburgers and popcorn. Plenty of time to play a round or two of Bocci ball with friends before the movie. The movie they chose was Parental Guidance, which is hilarious for kids of all ages if you haven't seen it.  The house in the movie is actually the home of one of our church families and the movie takes place right here in Atlanta. How appropriate. And awesome. That wasn't even the best part of our weekend. (Unbelievable, right?) On Saturday we woke up early and ran all of our errands so that we could go to PetSmart and get our kitt...
