Greenville

Image
Last weekend Michael and I went to Greenville to meet one of my best friends and her boyfriend for lunch as they were heading up to Michigan. Sounds weird, I know. But both came from Boston, one to Charleston, driving up to Greenville to get the other on their way north. Anyway, we had a really great time catching up, joking around, and overall just enjoying each other's company (and great food). It was kind of like the good old days (except plus one, in a different location, and instead of marching band or college exams, the conversation consisted largely of traffic, job searching, and budgets). This is really the only picture I took all weekend. I'm sorry. One day I'll get my act together. I discovered on this trip how much I really miss my best and closest friends (scattered all over the Eastern US since we've graduated). I cannot, in truth, say that I enjoy being so far from them or catching up so rarely due to my complete distaste for telephones. I t...

Cleanin' Out My Closet

Image
This past weekend (this whole quarter) was a really busy one for Michael. He's had a lot of projects, which means a lot of studio time and editing in his "free" time when he's not at work or in class. He spent most of Saturday in the studio and the rest of Saturday editing for Sunday morning, so I got lots of alone time. As an introvert who has been 'on' the last few weeks this did not bother me one bit. I did not make any plans with friends, but I did do something I consider highly enjoyable. I got to clean out our closet. We went to Costco and hit the jackpot. Those wonderful, velvet covered hangers that people have been going on about on Pinterest and certain blogs can be found in bulk, for cheap at Costco. And right next to them? 3 packs of clear plastic bins. You bet I grabbed some of those and went to town. Before: Both of our clothes, shoes, luggage, mess. But these girls and I worked really hard all afternoon. ...

Lake Murray Getaway

Image
This past weekend Michael and I took off to meet some of my mom's family at a house on Lake Murray, near Columbia, SC. Everyone was kind of in and out, the house served as home base for the better part of a week for several nuclear families. This difference in color is what happens when you move from the beach to the city. Also it's what happens when one of us wears sun block and one of us never touches the stuff (guess which is which). It was a lot of fun. And it was SO nice to be near water again. Michael was like a kid in a candy store, continuously inspecting the boat and starting it up, offering rides. We both miss being near water. And I miss this crazy crew a lot living so far away. It's always good to see them.  The only downside is that I missed these girls: Except they've looked like this for the past week: They make their feelings known, they're not subtle. Hope you had a great wee...
