Family Visit

My mom had a conference in Atlanta this past weekend, so my dad decided to tag along and we got to enjoy yet another birthday weekend in October. It was great to see them both and we really enjoyed way too much delicious food, football, and napping (Mom had lectures all day every day, so I hung out with the boys. Not complaining). We had burgers, pizza, wings, diner food, brazilian steaks, italian, and a healthy breakfast to end the weekend on a high note. These two... It was good to see them, and really weird to have them visit us at home in Atlanta. I really appreciated the laid back South Carolina demeanor taking control of our typical busy Atlanta weekends. I would love a little more of that in my life.  Getting back to real life this cold Monday morning was really no fun at all. But I intend to compensate with a little crocheting and some quality cat time (who, by the way, also quite enjoyed lazy afternoon naps with dad).

My favorite month. The month I was born. Also my mom was born this month. And my dad. And it's halloween. And the peak for Fall colors, as the last warm winds make way for the cooler ones which will take us from here through Spring. Can you tell I like October? I also like birthdays. And this one was particularly remarkable. It actually came and went without a lot of fuss, almost sneaking right by me. But everyone else seemed to remember it. I was completely overwhelmed by the cards and birthday wishes I received from new friends and old. Michael even had a slide on the televisions at Tuesday night bible study letting everyone know, since he has class Tuesday nights this quarter and can't be there. It was pretty amazing and I felt loved, to say the least. What was my birthday wish? To go to Ikea. So we did.
