October
My favorite month. The month I was born. Also my mom was born this month. And my dad. And it's halloween. And the peak for Fall colors, as the last warm winds make way for the cooler ones which will take us from here through Spring.
Can you tell I like October?
I also like birthdays. And this one was particularly remarkable. It actually came and went without a lot of fuss, almost sneaking right by me. But everyone else seemed to remember it. I was completely overwhelmed by the cards and birthday wishes I received from new friends and old. Michael even had a slide on the televisions at Tuesday night bible study letting everyone know, since he has class Tuesday nights this quarter and can't be there. It was pretty amazing and I felt loved, to say the least.
What was my birthday wish? To go to Ikea. So we did.
Last Friday night Michael and I made the trek into Atlanta to visit this Swedish furniture super store of which everyone speaks. And they are not just whistling dixie. It. is. ah-mazing. My engineer/architect/builder father would have a fit if he heard me say that, but we left the store with some real quality stuff for the prices. And I was impressed with the gamut their series' and prices cover. They've got a little of everything. Great, durable stuff for kids, cheap but sturdy enough stuff for college, and some much nicer pieces for established homeowners (if I do say so myself).
I know my last post was on home changes, but guess what? It's my favorite topic and my favorite month and I just discovered my new favorite store, so here we go again.

Our new, new living room:
Pretty excited about there being more neutrals, and fewer tropical colors in the living room year round.
Plus, that blanket is the most comfortable, ever. And I'm so happy to have another bookshelf. I even got to bring out all the photos of family and friends I'll bet no one knows we have.
These goobers have adjusted nicely, too. In case you were wondering.
