Ch-ch-ch-changes
I am just now getting around to actually writing and working on the blog because our lives have undergone quite a bit of construction in the last few weeks.
I was working at Pregnancy & Newborn Magazine after we got back to Atlanta as an editorial intern. I was continuing the dreaded job search in anticipation of the internship's end. Instead, I happened to apply for just the right position with just the right company at just the right time, and in all of one week I'd submitted my resume, completed a phone interview, trekked out to the office, met the crew, been offered the position, accepted, and left the magazine. Whew. I am now a sales research assistant with a computer software company called ClickDimensions.
Did I mention we're also packing and moving? No big deal.
So I was having pretty consistent freak out sessions whenever I stopped to think (or breathe), when Michael comes home with the news that both his co-workers are leaving, so he will soon be the tech 'team' (for a little while, anyway). He's excited, but obviously unsure of what will happen and it is a lot more added responsibility. We now bond over our--less frequent and largely dialed back--freak out sessions.
Needless to say, we found ourselves in survival mode for a short time there, but we're both very excited and these are good, good changes. We also decided on another change, just for kicks. We're getting a cat! Maybe. More on that later.
So just in case you hadn't heard, God's funny. He has jokes. And he wasn't kidding about that thief-in-the-night business either, consider yourself warned.
