More than leaves changing here...
I am aware that it has, again, been a whole month since I last posted. We've been busy (when are we not?) with friends and work, but also making a few much needed changes around the apartment.
We had a few friends over a while back and realized that we only have two dining chairs (awkward) and I usually ended up sitting on the floor somewhere (big fun). So we decided that since we are working an a limited space with a limited budget, we just needed to figure out how to redesign what we already have to make it work. And here's what we came up with (get ready for a photo overload, and please take note that I did in fact get my act together and locate and learn to use the real camera):
If you are still reading, and have not had enough of the pictures yet, I am beyond thrilled to announce that IT IS OFFICIALLY FALL! Hands down, the best season of them all (aside from the Christmas season, which is not really in the same category, so give me this one).

This beautiful chest was a gift from Michael's dad, he made it for us as a wedding present. It was shoved in a corner in our room, but now it serves as extra seating, storage, and eye candy in the dining room. Perfect. It's already drawn a few compliments.
Isn't that nice?
We also pulled out the old fashioned coffee maker and extended the coffee bar a bit. Always a welcome addition.
Next, the living room:
Check out that beauty in the center! Michael and I invited some friends over, a larger crowd than usual, and then panicked because we were making them dinner and had no coffee table and no room for eight around the breakfast table. So we dropped by Tuesday Morning on the way home and this table (originally almost $600) just happened to be very, very, very on sale. Just over $100 on sale. So we brought her home and never looked back.
We also brought this dresser that was crammed into a corner out for the TV and movies, which looks a lot neater than before, and allowed us to put the other table in the corner of the picture above for more surface area.
Office/Guest Room:
When we moved from Marietta I literally had boxes of Christmas gifts, wedding gifts, old stuff, etc. sitting around our apartment that we picked up never having viewed the contents, moved here, and shoved in a closet so as not to be seen. Well after the bedroom closet makeover, I was inspired to attack this closet. And found out that we had entirely too much useless stuff. Like 437-command-hook-replacement-stickers-from-college-taking-up-an-entire-box kind of stuff.
I spent several hours unpacking it all, purging, reorganizing and repackaging it all (with my beautiful new labelmaker). So the guest room has a bit more space for important things, like guests, now.
This is the first ever published photo of the desk, because it was never, ever before photo worthy.
Let's be honest, most of our guests are friends from Charleston, so the room may be a bit themed. And I finally got to hang the most expensive piece of artwork we own, my diploma.
I also have a bunch of craft stuff (yarn, sewing machine, ribbon, etc.) in the corner which I naively set out and assumed they would be safe (Oh, Emily). Please take a moment to enjoy this, the greatest photo of a cat ever taken, in my opinion:
Not at all photogenic. We must be related.
A few more updates, finally getting final touches finished around the house. Say that three times fast.
Finally got to hang these, another wedding gift from a very talented friend.
I decorated yesterday and may or may not have already had half a dozen pumpkin spice latte's from Starbucks.
Excuse Rachael, she has this obsession with the camera lens cap.
While Rachael might not get it, Lulu is with me that it is time to ditch the green tea and go for the pumpkin.
Happy Fall! Until next month time.
