Craftroom Reveal!

 I'm late on February's post, but house projects take three times as long with toddlers in the mix, amiright?

Anyway, I finally pulled my craftroom together over the weekend and wanted to share a quick glimpse! I'm so thrilled with it and it has been an incredible space in which to work and create. I'm actually almost grateful Michael is back to his "real" office so I could have this space all to myself--*almost*.




First--the beautiful SW Poolhouse blue walls we chose when we first moved in were much better suited to a soothing work office. For a creative space, I felt I needed a brighter and lighter wall color, so we went with SW Breaktime. It's brighter than I expected, but I'm happy with it for this room.





Second--I knew I needed more workspace, storage, and an area for lighting and product photography. I found both the desk and hutch on Amazon and have been pleased with the amount of storage and the sizes, which are more appropriate for the space than other pieces I've had or seen.







I'm still working on product photography and lighting--always. It's one of my least favorite parts of the job, aside from actually listing pieces. I have my eye on a nice ring light and vinyl backdrop. I'll probably pull the trigger and finish that project in another three weeks, but this works for now. 

I'm quite pleased with the space and am already feeling much more comfortable creating here! I've been able to delve back into painting a little bit, and I look forward to sharing more projects as I'm able.





I hope you're enjoying the first signs of Spring and make some time and space to be creative, yourself. We're still working on the patio space and I hope to share that later in March.

This is going to be a picture heavy post. So I hope you like pictures.  I do. Especially a bunch of good ol' before and afters. If you know me, you may have suspected there was no way I could sit quarantined in our house for months on end without changing a few things. The major project we undertook--before there was any mention of  quarantine--was our backyard fence. This has been years in the making. It was no small feat. It took months of paperwork, phone calls, and, ultimately, haggling over inches to get this thing in. Don't get me started. The wonderful, amazing, hard working guys over at Fence SC had the whole thing done, perfectly, in less than 48 hours. We were blown away. And they thought of every. little. thing. The Beach

I love the beach. I dislike bikinis, I don't tan easily, and, quite frankly, there's something about the combination of sunscreen and sweat that sets my sensitive skin aflame. I still love the beach. I've spent most of my life at the beach, and while I don't appreciate the things that others may find most exciting or enjoyable about it, I've learned that it can be as dynamic a place as the people who visit. Especially in the Winter, the shore is usually deserted and serene. It's one of my favorite times to be there. Being highly sensitive, when life comes at me fast and I'm feeling overwhelmed, there is very little more comforting or calming than fresh air and ocean sounds. Particularly during times of transition, or when life does not go according to plan, I find a moment of peace in the sunshine on the sandy shore.  I'm popping in with another picture heavy post just before April comes to a close. I thought I'd share a few home projects we have been busily working on this Spring! As I'm typing, my back is sore and my sunburn is healing, but we sure have had fun developing our little homestead. Our greatest and longest project to date has been our (now) fenced in yard, patio, and "garden." When we first moved in back in 2016 (and until April of 2020) our yard looked like this: Beautiful, but less than ideal for a dog and a toddler with the coyotes and snakes out in Spring. I wrote this post last year about our wonderful experience with the guys over at Fence SC , and this post about our DIY patio. So after many little projects, additions, and tweaks, we are so happy with the results and spend countless hours outdoors enjoying our little space.
