Wedding photos

I finally had some time to look through the DVD and print some photos and decided last night to do some more work on the wedding scrapbook I began over the summer. I'm terrible with pictures because I love them but can never figure out how to practically display the sheer quantity of photos I possess. (Seriously. You should have seen our room in college. We had so many pictures without a frame in sight, we just began to wallpaper the room slowly with all the photographs of family and friends and funny moments.)

I love scrapbooking, but I find myself in Michael's or Hobby Lobby every now and then with all kinds of grand plans and ideas (followed by a deal of debt) but nary a scrapbook to show for it. Until now.

This was kind of important to me and I started early with the intent to work on it little by little as time passed (instead of trying to remember what happened seven years after the fact like my last scrapbooking endeavor). And I can honestly say I was fairly successful this time around.






These are a few of the pages from the engagement and my bridal portraits.

But I finally got to add pictures of the main event:

There's a glimpse of what I was able to get done this week. Still working on a few last pages, but I'm pretty happy with it so far. I was also finally able to fill this beautiful photo tray we received as a wedding gift with something a little more personal than the Target photo-fillers.


Not bad.


Still struggling with the frame thing, but we're working on some of those for the apartment, too. It's been great fun looking through all of them and a lot of the candid facial expressions are priceless (mostly my own, I'll be honest. I am not photogenic). Check out this mishap that will more than likely be framed in our home:

This is going to be a picture heavy post. So I hope you like pictures.  I do. Especially a bunch of good ol' before and afters. If you know me, you may have suspected there was no way I could sit quarantined in our house for months on end without changing a few things. The major project we undertook--before there was any mention of  quarantine--was our backyard fence. This has been years in the making. It was no small feat. It took months of paperwork, phone calls, and, ultimately, haggling over inches to get this thing in. Don't get me started. The wonderful, amazing, hard working guys over at Fence SC had the whole thing done, perfectly, in less than 48 hours. We were blown away. And they thought of every. little. thing. They left space for the grass to grow and the weed whacker to fit, they leveled the posts and the boards, they installed the most beautiful gate and hardware I've ever seen. The Beach

I love the beach. I dislike bikinis, I don't tan easily, and, quite frankly, there's something about the combination of sunscreen and sweat that sets my sensitive skin aflame. I still love the beach. I've spent most of my life at the beach, and while I don't appreciate the things that others may find most exciting or enjoyable about it, I've learned that it can be as dynamic a place as the people who visit. Especially in the Winter, the shore is usually deserted and serene. It's one of my favorite times to be there. Being highly sensitive, when life comes at me fast and I'm feeling overwhelmed, there is very little more comforting or calming than fresh air and ocean sounds. Particularly during times of transition, or when life does not go according to plan, I find a moment of peace in the sunshine on the sandy shore.  I'm popping in with another picture heavy post just before April comes to a close. I thought I'd share a few home projects we have been busily working on this Spring! As I'm typing, my back is sore and my sunburn is healing, but we sure have had fun developing our little homestead. Our greatest and longest project to date has been our (now) fenced in yard, patio, and "garden." When we first moved in back in 2016 (and until April of 2020) our yard looked like this: Beautiful, but less than ideal for a dog and a toddler with the coyotes and snakes out in Spring. I wrote this post last year about our wonderful experience with the guys over at Fence SC , and this post about our DIY patio. So after many little projects, additions, and tweaks, we are so happy with the results and spend countless hours outdoors enjoying our little space.
