Last weekend
First of all, last weekend was Mother's Day, so I hope all the moms enjoyed it and everyone else showed them how important they are. Without them society could not survive, for a number of reasons. Namely, I think we can all agree that these are faces only a mother can love:
This weekend Michael and I also made the final decision to look seriously into getting a pet. More specifically a cat, because, while we are both dog people, it is just cruel to trap a dog in a third floor apartment with our schedules. So a kitten it is. This is a first for me. I'll be honest, I grew up hating cats. Sincerely. They're weird and they lick themselves a lot and they weren't overly friendly. But Michael and my college roommate, Rachael, taught me how cool cats can be and when we saw this little lady on Saturday, I just knew I wanted her in my life.
She had no name and she was in a crate with about five other kittens, but she kept to herself. She had pink eye, poor thing, and when Michael held her she melted in his arms and blinked at me. She wasn't ready to go yet, but we've officially applied and requested her, specifically, to be ours, so we'll find out in a few weeks.
Lastly, it was also the Dunwoody Arts Festival here. Lots of talented exhibitors and beautiful wares. Michael bought me a lovely wallet/clutch as a gift from a local quilter.
It was a fun weekend. Next weekend is supposed to finally get warm in Atlanta, and we've got family coming to visit so hopefully the rain will hold off until Monday.
Hope you enjoyed your Mother's Day weekend. And hey, Monday's already over.
